RULES

  1. The NFF Dairy Quiz Bowl Contest gives youth a chance to learn and develop their thinking and public speaking skills.  Participation shall be restricted to bona fide 4-H and FFA members.  It is not necessary for a youth to enter cattle to participate in the Quiz Bowl.  Youth will register as individuals.  Youth who have never participated in Quiz Bowl before are encouraged to do so.

  3. Given time constraints, the Quiz Bowl will be single or double elimination, depending on the number of individuals participating.  Individuals will be asked 15 toss-up questions, each worth 10 points, in each round.  The first individual to buzz in with an answer will be asked to wait until their name is called, then given the opportunity to answer.  There will be no deductions for wrong answers.  If the individual gives an incorrect answer, the question will be open to another individual to buzz in.  If a contestant feels their answer was correct after the judge had deemed it incorrect, the contestant must bring up their objection before the next question is asked. The judge’s ruling on answers is final.
  4. Questions for the Quiz Bowl Contest will relate to all aspects of dairy cattle (nutrition, reproduction, health, genetics, calf care, physiology, history, etc.)
